Synopsis: Over the last few years there has been a rash of disappearances at Sea Bright Beach. While most of the locales ignore the disappearances there is one woman named Tess (Erin Brown) who has seen the sea creatures when they murdered her boyfriend. Rupert (Dave Fife) an aspiring reporter looking for the story that will land him in the big time goes to Sea Bright Beach hoping to find the monsters that have been depleting the areas local population.

Splatter Beach was directed by the Polonia brothers Mark and John. Splatter Beach is a loosely based sequel on Polonia brothers’ penned screenplay for the 1987 film Splatter Farm. Fans of low budget/direct to video horror films have most likely seen one of the Polonia’s two dozen plus films that they have directed over the last three decades. The films direction is simply amazing as they perfectly mix horror and sexuality without ever losing track of the films core the sea monsters.

Sure the sea monsters look like actors in fish suits and this is part of its charm. To the director credit they also keep the monsters off screen as much as possible. The films surf music is oddly appropriate as it effortlessly gels with the films themes about monsters and beach life. One of my favorite things about this film is it many bizarre characters like a weight lifter on the beach who spends his every moment doing just that and taking about Hercules or body building. Then there is the nerdy lead that only cares about finding the monsters while his friend a white boy who thinks his is black is only along for the trip to bang his hot girlfriend.

All the various performances do a good job with their respective roles with the performance of Erika Smith as Tonya Smith stealing every moment she is in as she ignites the screen with sexual desire. The dialog also features some very humorous lines that most cult movie fans will pick up on while casual horror movie fans will not get their meanings. Ultimately Splatter Beach is a blast that mixes it various ingredients to their maximum potential.

This release comes with one audio option a Dolby Digital stereo mix in English. The audio is free of any audio defects.
